Miami, USA

Miami is Florida’s capital by the sea, a dynamic sunshine city that continually surprises with its talent for reinvention. Once little more than the gateway to the state it has erupted with design, culture and style to become a most in-demand destination.

South Americans, Europeans and Americans all want a share in Miami’s sassy Latino beat and that is reflected in strong rental yields for well chosen properties.

The rejuvenation of the Design District in Midtown and the opening in 2013 of PAMM, a contemporary art museum in Museum Park has been Miami’s big story this decade. Following on, star architects from Zaha Hadid to Piero Lissoni have created residential buildings and Art Basel Miami every December attracts the top artistic names.

Prime residential locations include anywhere on the wide, white sands of Miami Beach and especially its heart, the curving Art Deco beauty of South Beach. This area South of Fifth looks across to the high-end condos on Fisher Island, one of America’s wealthiest zip codes. South Beach attracts the beautiful and affluent party crowd and has a unique and highly enviable atmosphere.

At the other end of Miami Beach upmarket Bal Harbour is a chic address with the super smart, fountain-filled mall beloved by high spenders. Its property is a more family-friendly, quieter antidote to hedonistic South Beach yet only 15 minutes away.

High-rise Brickell is the business district but gaining a young fanbase for its convenient modern condos offering gyms, pools and spas. Miami Beach is within fifteen minutes and rental yields can be strong. A little further south with a long waterfront but no beach, Coconut Grove is the original Miami neighbourhood, leafy and low-level with older family homes hidden behind established Banyan trees.
