The Caribbean

The Caribbean

Palm trees and soft sand beaches meet pastel-painted waterfront homes in a familiar picture of casual-chic Caribbean life. This region has a happy history as a holiday sanctuary, a place to kick back and relax under clear blue skies.

For decades Europeans and North Americans have escaped their harsh winters for year-round warmth in the Caribbean – British Airways recently celebrated 60 years of flights from London to Barbados - and now other nationalities are joining in too, prompted by an ever-improving range of good quality properties and interesting Citizenship by Investment programmes.

It’s the variety that adds to the charm. The region covers 28 nations and 7,000 islands strung in a sparkling chain through the Caribbean Sea. Some are volcanic, some mountainous, some have lush rain forests and some are little more than sand bars. Each has its own style catering variously for sailors, golfers, divers, party-loving sybarites, families and couples but all islands share a tropical climate, azure blue seas and a distinct Caribbean beat.
